Sparkle and Shine!

Good morning Folks!
Sadly not too much action on my blog lately, but I just wanted to show you my card for the new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' . The theme this week is

SPARKLE AND SHINE

Apologies for the poor photo quality, it is really dull and gloomy here, not ideal for trying to capture sparkle!! I've used a favourite Penny Black stamp called Ice Dance, coloured with promarkers and some diecuts cut from white glitter card. I also added a couple of gems, a wooden sentiment I found in my stash and a good splash of stickles!!

Here's the close up view:

We are celebrating our 6th Birthday over at Sweet Stampin' this week so it would be lovely if you could join us!

I'd also like to join in with a few of my favourite challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Glitter it Up option
Penny Black and more - Anything Christmas
Cardz for Guyz - Fun in the snow
Winter Wonderland - Sparkle and bling

Park Bench Romance

BOO!!
Yes, it is another Hallowe'en shock - I'm actually writing a blog post, they are getting a bit few and far between lately!! Just wanted to share my DT card for the new challenge starting over at Sweet Stampin' which is to use

DIES &/or PUNCHES

I made this card for my Mum and Dad who celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary over the summer, I wanted to make them something a bit traditional with the gold colour and hearts but with a slightly unusual image. The stamp is PB Park Bench and as soon as I saw it on Ebay I had to get it!! Glad to say that my parents loved it too!

I've used 3 different dies on this card:
Simon Says Stamp - String of hearts
Memory Box - Typewriter Numbers (cut several times and layered together to give a bit of depth)
and MFT Die-namics Formal Flourish which has been cut twice, one turned upside down and then carefully trimmed and glued together to create the border.

Here's a close up of the happy prickly couple, if you look closely you can just see a touch of Wink of Stella on the roses:

Thanks for visiting and Happy Hallowe'en to those of you celebrating tonight! We are keeping it simple here - just carving a pumpkin and handing out sweets!!

Daisy Cat

Hi Folks!
Hope you're all well. I'm running a long way behind schedule today so I'm just dashing on with a quick post to tell you about the new challenge starting over at Sweet Stampin'. This week we'd love you to join our Antiques Roadshow - have a dig around in your stash, blow the dust off a really old stamp and show it some love.

I can't really remember which stamp is the first I ever bought in my collection but this one has been with me for at least 8+ years. It's called Daisy Cat by Hobby Art. Sadly though, like lots of my stamps, it hasn't been used that often!! I also raided my pink scrap paper folder - didn't really realise quite how pink the final result was until I came to photograph it!! The papers are mainly Dovecraft I think and the sentiment is LOTV. The die cuts are by Spellbinders and Die'sire.

Still love the cute expression! Also added a bit of bling to the collar:

I hope you'll check out the inspiration from my lovely teamies over on the main blog and we also have a Sweet Stampin' Goodie Bag as a prize this time so please join the fun!!

Just zoomin' by

Morning Folks!
Hope everyone is well - hugs to those that need them!
A quick post from me to say that the new challenge has just started over at Sweet Stampin' , the theme this time is

WHEELS

I really loved this challenge, so many possibilities but I decided to dig out an old LOTV stamp. As usual I bought it, put in the drawer and promptly forgot about using it! Papers are also old,  from my scraps folder - a bit of Basic Grey and some magazine freebies I think (??). Corners are a Woodware punch and a few brads and a rub on sentiment to finish.

Here's the cute image in more detail - coloured with the ever faithful promarkers:

Thanks for visiting and as the sentiment says 'Have a Great day' !!

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Masculine
CHN Patterned paper - October Challenge
I love promarkers - Masculine

Toot the Flute!

 Morning folks!
Long time no see I know, but I'm hoping that life will calm down soon and that I will get back to blogging properly again in the not too distant future!
In the meantime, I just popped on to show you my card for the new ' Let's get Musical' challenge over at Sweet Stampin
The PB stamp is called 'Toot the Flute' and was very quick to colour - a good thing this week! The papers are LOTV and a scrap of Christmas music paper from my box.

Wonder what tune the cat is playing???

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Shaped cards
Crafty Catz - Anything goes

Thanks for visiting and
Bye for now!

Anniversary Giraffes

Morning Folks!
I hope everyone is fit and well and looking forward to the weekend! I've got my fingers crossed that this publishes OK as I'm escaping the dust, mess and general chaos of the kitchen makeover for a few days! Just wanted to let you know that the new challenge is just starting over at Sweet Stampin' , it's a nice easy one this time:

ANYTHING BUT A BIRTHDAY

I made this card for my husband as we are celebrating our anniversary later this month. The giraffes are very appropriate as they are one of his favourite animals plus he is quite tall and I'm very short so my family refers to him as a giraffe!

The bugaboo image is coloured with promarkers and chalked at the edges. The papers, buttons and brad are all from my stash.

Don't they make a cute couple!!

Thanks for visiting!

Hamish fixing his tractor

Morning Folks!
Long time no see I know, but things have been a bit mad here lately. I'm having my kitchen gutted and altered so at the moment I have no floor or ceiling and wires dangling everywhere - I just keep telling myself it will be lovely when it is finished!! On the positive side, it is the perfect excuse to hide away in my craft room and play. Talking of playing, the new challenge starting at Sweet Stampin' this week is

BOYS AND THEIR TOYS

I had a rummage through my stash and this is what I came up with, quite pleased because everything is pretty old:

The stamp is a very old Sugar Nellie one called Hamish Fixing Tractor which I bought in the sale years ago just because it was cute, then like a lot of things it got put in the drawer and has only just seen daylight again. I think it has now been discontinued. The papers are K&Co Hopscotch and the embossing folder is 'replacements' by Couture Creations. I've no idea where the sentiment came from, it could be a magazine freebie but I'm not sure??

Thanks for popping by today and for any comments you leave, I love reading them!
I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Inky Chicks - Use a metal embellishment
Aud Sentiments - Anything goes
Papertake Weekly - Build it up
Dream Valley - Embossing (wet or dry)
A Gem of a Challenge - Brithday Wishes
The Sugar Bowl - Anything goes with a sugar nellie image

Now I'm off for a nice cup of tea with bonus brick dust!!

Christmas Cookies

Hi Folks!
Long time and no action on my blog, but life has been hectic lately! Still good news, I have now finished work for the summer holidays so I've got a BIG smile on my face!!
The new challenge is just starting over at Sweet Stampin' , this week we have chosen a theme which has become something of a blogging tradition at this time of year:

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Now, I have to raise my hand and admit I don't usually start my Christmas cards until at least December (I only make ones for special family members) so getting out the Christmas supplies on a hot day seemed all wrong!! Still at least this will be one less card to make in a mad rush!
The stamp is of course by House Mouse and the papers are magazine freebies from years ago!

Here's the close up view, a really mixture on this -
promarkers, flexmarkers, distress ink and glitter pen.

At least the glitter and the fluff on the little mouse's hat dried quickly in the hot weather - before I stuck my finger in it!!

Also used my new poinsettia dies from Robert Adams that I bought way back in February!!

Thanks for visiting today!
I'd also like to join the following challenges:
Gruffies and Guests - Lazy Days or anything goes
Stamping Sensations - Feature a Creature

Lamplight Kitties

Morning Folks!
Hope there are still some peeps reading my blog - I know it has been a bit neglected lately, life has been busy and I'm really hoping for a relaxing weekend!! I bet you are too!!

The new challenge of

BLACK AND WHITE WITH A POP OF ONE OTHER COLOUR

is just starting over at Sweet Stampin' .

Have to admit, at first I struggled to think what to do for this one. Then, while I was looking for something else, I found these very old cat silhouette stamps from Little Claire and ta da .... inspiration struck!

In the end this was a quick card to make, only a teeny bit of yellow promarker involved! I stamped the cats with Staz On ink as it gives a really dark image which I like. The sentiment is from a Humphrey's Corner set and the embossing folder is unsurprisingly called 'Brick' by Creative Expressions - it hadn't seen the light of day in many years!

Thanks for visiting and for any comments. I'm off to do a few jobs in the garden, not my strong point but needs must!!

Back now to add some challenges:
Creative Knockouts - Use your stash (old stamps and embossing folder)
Crafty Creations - Embossing

Put your best tie on!

Morning Folks!
Long time no see, but I'm back again with my card for the new challenge that is starting over at Sweet Stampin' this morning. Our theme this time is

FATHER'S DAY or SPECIAL MALE

Here's my card, very CAS and not at all like the original idea in my head! The papers are Chateau Stripe by Chatterbox Inc, I bought several double sided 12" x 12" sheets several years ago but sadly this is nearly the last of them - think this might qualify as my favourite 'masculine' paper ever!!

The stamp is 'Dressed Up' by Penny Black - another one that has been 'rescued' from Ebay - yes my addiction is getting worse but who could resist that little face??
Here's a closer look, coloured with promarkers and then fussy cut and framed with a nesties die cut background:

Thanks for popping by today!

Love Ducks

Good Morning Folks!
Pheww, thank goodness it is FINALLY the weekend!
I've had one of those weeks where I just seem to have been chasing my tail!!
This is going to be a quick post, as I really should be tackling some of those chores I've been trying to avoid all week!!
The new challenge just starting over at Sweet Stampin' is

CLEAN AND SIMPLE

which was lucky as I don't think I could have managed an elaborate card!!

I've used another Penny Black stamp called Lovin' and Huggin' that was 'rescued' from Ebay. I think it is going to become a new favourite because it is really quick to colour and useful for so many occasions! The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

Here's the happy couple - aw cute!!

It had to be ....

Morning Folks!
Our new challenge has just started over at Sweet Stampin' and this time we'd like to see your projects inspired by a

BOOK OR FILM

No prizes for guessing which film I went for!! I just wish I had more Paddington stamps in my collection, this one was a magazine freebie from several years ago. This card is going to be for my nephew, who is also a big PB fan - we went to see the film together! I wanted to keep the design fairly CAS but went for a joy fold to add a bit of interest.

The papers are from Country Companions Christmas 'Winter Wishes' collection and the bear himself has been coloured with promarkers, here's a closer look:

It's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' and this time it's
ANYTHING BUT A CARD
We are sponsored this week by
I have to admit I struggled a bit with this one, my mojo left the building as sinusitis arrived! I haven't made anything apart from cards for yonks but after much dithering eventually settled on decorating a kraft gift bag:

The Forever Friends stamp has been in my stash for ages, it came from the Glitter Pot sale at least 3 years ago for about £1.25, bargain!! The papers are a mixture of odds and ends from my folders. The banner die cut is by Poppy stamps.
Here's the close up views:

Bunny Talk

Happy Easter Sunday everyone!
I hope you're having a good day and that perhaps the Easter bunny has dropped off some chocolate for you!
As promised on Friday, here's my second Easter card using a Penny Black stamp called 'Bunny Talk' that I have had for ages. I have used it a couple of times before but masked off the little chick so that it was more generic and suitable for different occasions!
Once again the papers are from my scraps collections and the prima flowers are from my stash

Wonder what they are saying to each other?? Perhaps the chick wants to know where the Easter eggs are hidden??

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Easter Sunday whatever you're doing!!

PAPER PIECING
so dig out those sharp scissors and paper scraps!!
We have a lovely prize from
up for grabs!!

Here's my card using a fab Stella digi from Bugaboo which just makes me laugh!! Not quite sure if paper piecing and going bra less are a good combination though - careful with those scissors!!

I've coloured the image with promarkers and then paper pieced the dress and shoes using a scrap of lilac polka dot paper. Also used up a few more flowers from the stash collection!!
