Hippo Birdie Tag

 Morning folks!
Long time no see I know, but I've been away for a few days in Amsterdam which was wonderful - such an interesting city and lots to do - I want to go back again. I've also been doing a bit of scrap booking and attempting to declutter the house, I've made a bit of progress but still a way to go yet!

Anyway, I actually popped on to show you my little creation for the new 'Tags' challenge over at Sweet Stampin .
The stamp and die set is from Lawn Fawn and was very quick to colour and cut out! The papers are all from my scraps box but the amount in there doesn't ever seem to go down - could it be breeding in there when my back is turned?

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Alphabet Challenge - D for dots
Simon Says Stamp - Let's do the Polka
Ribbon, image, sentiment

Thanks for visiting and
Bye for now!

A barrowful of Easter Eggs

Morning Folks!

Sweet Stampin' is celebrating the season of Easter bunnies, chocolate and Hot Cross buns this week, it would be lovely if you could join us! To be honest, it doesn't seem five minutes since Christmas and here we are nearly Easter - where does the time go lately??
For my card I've blown the dust off a very old PB stamp and inked it up, this is really one of those stamps that only gets an outing once a year, it's called Barrowful. A very CAS design from me today as I was short of time and I also wanted the papers and cute image to be the stars of the show!!

Not sure where he is heading with a wheel barrow full of choccy eggs??

Details:
Stamp - Penny Black 'Barrowful'
Papers - First Edition 'Springdrop'
Promarkers to colour and a few pearls from my stash

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and I hope you'll visit the Sweet Stampin' blog to check out the inspiration from my fab teamies!!

I'd also like to join a few challenges:
Simon says Stamp - Cute and cuddly
Penny Black and more - Include a creature
Inky Chicks - Happy Easter

Unusual hair Colour!

Morning Folks!
Sadly my blog has been a little neglected lately, but I'm here this morning to share my DT inspiration for the new challenge just starting over at Sweet Stampin' where we would like to see

UNUSUAL HAIR COLOUR

I was a long way outside my comfort zone with this challenge but I'm quite pleased with the final result. I rarely colour images of people, let alone girls with purple hair. The  Gorjuss girl stamp is a sneaky new purchase, called Poppy Wood from Docrafts. Quite a bargain at less than £2 and stamps beautifully - might be adding some more to my collection. The papers are from the same range.

Here's a closer look!! I want my hair this colour for the summer, I've had it a plum / purple but never managed something this vibrant!! Must talk to my hairdresser!!

Details:
Stamp - Docrafts Santoro Gorjuss Poppy Wood
Sentiment - LOTV
Coloured with promarkers and chalk inks
Papers - Docrafts Santoro Gorjuss
Die cuts - Spellbinders, Sizzix Swirly Vine and Go Kreate Frilly frames
Flowers, twine, pearls and wire butterfly from stash.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today and for any comments - I love reading them xx

I'd also like to join in with a few challenges:
MAWTT - Purple Haze
Cardz for Girlz - Woman or Women
The Sugar Bowl - A/G with a Sugar Nellie image
Allsorts - International Women's Day

Sparkly Swallowtail

Hi Everyone!
Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend, I have been on half term this week - yay!! I've not managed to do too much crafting though, I've been painting on a larger scale - the dining room is getting a fresh lick of paint! Hoping to get it finished later today, why is it these jobs always seem to take twice as long as I expect? TV makeovers can manage the whole room in 2 days .... maybe a need a magic roller or some different paint!!

The new challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is quite decorative too - Glitter and Sparkle. Somehow everytime I use glitter I always seem to be wearing it and finding it around for days!! I made this card for my boss - bet you can't guess her favourite colour!! The gorgeous stamp is by Stampin Up and is probably the largest stamp I own. In real life this is quite sparkly, the butterfly has lots of Wink of Stella on the wings but my camera just makes it grey looking ;-(
The ribbon is also quite sparkly and the scrap of background paper has a nice sheen. Wish I had managed to take a few better pics of the card before I had to give it away!! A sideways shot would have been good so that you could see the different layers on the butterfly, still too late now but at least my boss loved it!!

Thanks for popping by today!
As usual I can't resist joining in with a few challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More - A/G
ABC Challenge - B is for .... Butterfly
Dream Valley Challenges - Sparkle, bling and Embellish
and Bunny Zoe's Craft Challenge - Things with Wings

Joyride!

Morning Folks!
Can you believe we are into February already? I'm always so glad to see January behind us. Of course, Valentine's Day is creeping up fast, so over at Sweet Stampin' our new challenge is

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE

I saw this PB stamp in the sale over at The Glitter Pot in January and despite trying hard to resist, eventually I just had to get it!!  My excuse is that I 'needed it' to make a Valentine's card for my hubby. Here's the end result, quite CAS, he's not into fussy cards and I think perhaps the hint of pink was pushing the limits!!

Here's a closer look at the cute couple:

I found this charm in my stash and thought it was very appropriate:

Details:

I just want a millionaire ......

Hello Folks!
The new challenge is starting over at Sweet Stampin' this morning. Our new theme is ' Vintage or Shabby Chic' which I have to say took me a very long way from my comfort zone. This card is nothing like the original idea in my head and nearly ended up in the bin twice - to be really honest I'm still not liking the end result apart from the sentiment. Anyhow, here is my effort:

The stamp is a very old and from Personal Impressions, coloured with promarkers and chalks. The paper is also antique (quite appropriate!) -  MME Wild Asparagus which I believe was a magazine freebie in approx 2008.

On a positive note I did use up a lot of flowers and a piece of hoarded braid from my stash. Also played with a lot of dies, nesties, MB trellis border and Die-namics floral flourish:

and the Indigo Blu sentiment does make me smile!!

I'd like to enter a few challenges:
Crafty Ribbons - Fabulous flowers
Crafting for all seasons - Ribbon and Pearls
Passion for Promarkers - Flower Power
Crafty Boots - Ribbon or lace
Penny Black and More - one for the Girls
Stamping Sensations - A/G with diecuts

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post, but I have blown the dust off my blog and am hoping that 2016 is a bit more productive - finger's crossed. Here's my first make this year, for the new 'Flowers' challenge over at Sweet Stampin', a small calendar for my craft room which originally started life as a coaster.

Here's a closer look, check out the new paper - back to basics bright spark - which 'fell' into my basket at The Range last weekend ... it was in the bargain bin so it seemed rude to leave it there!!

Sparkle and Shine!

Good morning Folks!
Sadly not too much action on my blog lately, but I just wanted to show you my card for the new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' . The theme this week is

SPARKLE AND SHINE

Apologies for the poor photo quality, it is really dull and gloomy here, not ideal for trying to capture sparkle!! I've used a favourite Penny Black stamp called Ice Dance, coloured with promarkers and some diecuts cut from white glitter card. I also added a couple of gems, a wooden sentiment I found in my stash and a good splash of stickles!!

Here's the close up view:

We are celebrating our 6th Birthday over at Sweet Stampin' this week so it would be lovely if you could join us!

I'd also like to join in with a few of my favourite challenges:

Park Bench Romance

BOO!!
Yes, it is another Hallowe'en shock - I'm actually writing a blog post, they are getting a bit few and far between lately!! Just wanted to share my DT card for the new challenge starting over at Sweet Stampin' which is to use

DIES &/or PUNCHES

I made this card for my Mum and Dad who celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary over the summer, I wanted to make them something a bit traditional with the gold colour and hearts but with a slightly unusual image. The stamp is PB Park Bench and as soon as I saw it on Ebay I had to get it!! Glad to say that my parents loved it too!

I've used 3 different dies on this card:
Simon Says Stamp - String of hearts
Memory Box - Typewriter Numbers (cut several times and layered together to give a bit of depth)
and MFT Die-namics Formal Flourish which has been cut twice, one turned upside down and then carefully trimmed and glued together to create the border.

Here's a close up of the happy prickly couple, if you look closely you can just see a touch of Wink of Stella on the roses:

Thanks for visiting and Happy Hallowe'en to those of you celebrating tonight! We are keeping it simple here - just carving a pumpkin and handing out sweets!!

Daisy Cat

Hi Folks!
Hope you're all well. I'm running a long way behind schedule today so I'm just dashing on with a quick post to tell you about the new challenge starting over at Sweet Stampin'. This week we'd love you to join our Antiques Roadshow - have a dig around in your stash, blow the dust off a really old stamp and show it some love.

I can't really remember which stamp is the first I ever bought in my collection but this one has been with me for at least 8+ years. It's called Daisy Cat by Hobby Art. Sadly though, like lots of my stamps, it hasn't been used that often!! I also raided my pink scrap paper folder - didn't really realise quite how pink the final result was until I came to photograph it!! The papers are mainly Dovecraft I think and the sentiment is LOTV. The die cuts are by Spellbinders and Die'sire.

Still love the cute expression! Also added a bit of bling to the collar:

I hope you'll check out the inspiration from my lovely teamies over on the main blog and we also have a Sweet Stampin' Goodie Bag as a prize this time so please join the fun!!

Just zoomin' by

Morning Folks!
Hope everyone is well - hugs to those that need them!
A quick post from me to say that the new challenge has just started over at Sweet Stampin' , the theme this time is

WHEELS

I really loved this challenge, so many possibilities but I decided to dig out an old LOTV stamp. As usual I bought it, put in the drawer and promptly forgot about using it! Papers are also old,  from my scraps folder - a bit of Basic Grey and some magazine freebies I think (??). Corners are a Woodware punch and a few brads and a rub on sentiment to finish.

Here's the cute image in more detail - coloured with the ever faithful promarkers:

Thanks for visiting and as the sentiment says 'Have a Great day' !!

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Masculine
CHN Patterned paper - October Challenge
I love promarkers - Masculine
Cardz 4 Guyz - Something beginning with M (motoring)

Toot the Flute!

 Morning folks!
Long time no see I know, but I'm hoping that life will calm down soon and that I will get back to blogging properly again in the not too distant future!
In the meantime, I just popped on to show you my card for the new ' Let's get Musical' challenge over at Sweet Stampin
The PB stamp is called 'Toot the Flute' and was very quick to colour - a good thing this week! The papers are LOTV and a scrap of Christmas music paper from my box.

Wonder what tune the cat is playing???

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Shaped cards
Crafty Catz - Anything goes

Thanks for visiting and
Bye for now!

Anniversary Giraffes

Morning Folks!
I hope everyone is fit and well and looking forward to the weekend! I've got my fingers crossed that this publishes OK as I'm escaping the dust, mess and general chaos of the kitchen makeover for a few days! Just wanted to let you know that the new challenge is just starting over at Sweet Stampin' , it's a nice easy one this time:

ANYTHING BUT A BIRTHDAY

I made this card for my husband as we are celebrating our anniversary later this month. The giraffes are very appropriate as they are one of his favourite animals plus he is quite tall and I'm very short so my family refers to him as a giraffe!

The bugaboo image is coloured with promarkers and chalked at the edges. The papers, buttons and brad are all from my stash.

Don't they make a cute couple!!

Thanks for visiting!

Hamish fixing his tractor

Morning Folks!
Long time no see I know, but things have been a bit mad here lately. I'm having my kitchen gutted and altered so at the moment I have no floor or ceiling and wires dangling everywhere - I just keep telling myself it will be lovely when it is finished!! On the positive side, it is the perfect excuse to hide away in my craft room and play. Talking of playing, the new challenge starting at Sweet Stampin' this week is

BOYS AND THEIR TOYS

I had a rummage through my stash and this is what I came up with, quite pleased because everything is pretty old:

The stamp is a very old Sugar Nellie one called Hamish Fixing Tractor which I bought in the sale years ago just because it was cute, then like a lot of things it got put in the drawer and has only just seen daylight again. I think it has now been discontinued. The papers are K&Co Hopscotch and the embossing folder is 'replacements' by Couture Creations. I've no idea where the sentiment came from, it could be a magazine freebie but I'm not sure??

Thanks for popping by today and for any comments you leave, I love reading them!
I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Inky Chicks - Use a metal embellishment
Aud Sentiments - Anything goes
Papertake Weekly - Build it up
Dream Valley - Embossing (wet or dry)
A Gem of a Challenge - Brithday Wishes
The Sugar Bowl - Anything goes with a sugar nellie image

Now I'm off for a nice cup of tea with bonus brick dust!!
