A bit of an experiment ....

Morning Folks!
Vickie has choosen the theme of

STAMP YOUR BACKGROUND
(No designer papers)

over at Sparkles Monthly Challenges this month. My mojo seems to have been buried in the piles of stash that I'm still trying to tidy up, and as a fan of designer paper this challenge was a bit outside my comfort zone! I decided to have a look at Pinterest for some inspiration - wasted another hour - but I was inspired by the Triple Time Stamping Technique and a great tutorial here. I used stamps from the Stampin' Up Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Banners sets to make this:

I have to say this came out better than I expected, my biggest problem was thinking in inches - my brain has gone to fluff over the summer holiday! With hindsight, I think I should have used a bigger stamp or added some leaves or something because there is a bit too much white space for my taste. It would have been quite a quick card to make if I hadn't spent ages looking for some repositional tape to 'anchor' the stack of white layers. Might try this one again when Mr Mojo is not quite so fragile!!

Little Hooty

Morning Folks!
Goodness, how can it be the middle of September already? Even more scary, how can my son be 18 today, I'm feeling old!!!
Over at Sparkles Monthly Challenges the new theme is

USE YOUR DIES & PUNCHES

Here's my card using a Stampin' Up owl punch which I 'had to have' but which has not seen that much use! I blew the dust off of it and found some nice autumnal coloured scraps of paper to use. The background wood grain paper is from The Works, amazing quality for £2 a pack - it is really more like card.  The sentiment is a Letraset Rub On - remember those??

The owl is perched on a trimmed down Memory Box Lavish Branch and the corners are made using a  Diesire die.

Spring Flowers

Morning Folks!
Can someone please tell me where the last week has gone? I think I missed it, I had great plans to get lots of things sorted over half term but not many of those plans have worked out!! Yesterday I was waiting for deliveries from Tesco, Amazon and Currys and I couldn't settle to do anything!!
Still on the plus side, I now have a lovely shiny new chest freezer in the garage - I just need to get cooking now!!

As it's Saturday (yep, really) we have a new challenge starting over at Sweet Stampin' which I think might cheer you up if like me you are getting sick of wintery, dull and drizzly days. This time we'd like to see some

SPRING FLOWERS

Something a bit different from me this week, I visited my sister last weekend and we were playing around with some of her Stampin' Up goodies - this is my attempt at painting with distress inks!
Not something I would normally try but it was quite fun!!

Thanks for visiting and I do hope you'll join us over at Sweet Stampin', there's a lovely prize from

A bit cheesy!

Morning Folks!
I'm super excited to announce that I have joined the DT over at Sweet Stampin' and today is my first post for them!!

The new challenge is
HUMOUR

Here's my card using the cheese stamp from the Giggles Greetings set by Stampin Up. The cheese, coloured with pro and flexmarkers, kind of dictated the colour scheme- quite masculine but I do need a few more male cards in my box!
The papers are scraps, the dotty one is by Fancy Pants but I'm not sure about the background one which is much older. The sentiment is also by Stampin Up from the Sketched Birthday set.
Hope you can find the time to visit the main Sweet Stampin' Blog and see the rest of the inspiration and just to tempt you even more we have 2 great prizes on offer to the lucky winners:
Weekly Prize: Crafts you Love £10 voucher

Monthly prize : £10 Cuddly Bubbly voucher

So what are you waiting for, grab those funny stamps
and make us laugh!!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Little fairies - One for the boys

Blast from the past!!

Afternoon everyone!!

Finally I am back in blogland after moving house almost a year ago and I have to say I'm really excited to be crafting and posting again. The new house has taken a lot more time and effort than we originally thought and crafting definitely had to take a back seat for quite a long time while I have been tackling bigger projects!! Good news though, we all love the new place so it's worth the effort AND I have finally begun to move into my new craft space, or should I say take over the spare room, and unpack my craft goodies. It's been a bit like Christmas unpacking all the stuff that has been in boxes for 10 months and there have been several things I had completely forgotten about - shhh, don't tell hubby, he already thinks I have too much craft stuff !!

Anyway, enough waffle from me, I'm here to share my card for today's new picture challenge over at Here Come the Boys , drum roll please ..... only the second card I have made this year:

and here's the picture Inspiration for this challenge

I choose to use the vintage car and blue and green colour scheme as my inspiration. It also gave me the perfect excuse to play with my new Crafty Individuals stamp (an ebay bargain) and to get inky with distress inks. I was good and used up some scraps of paper from my bits and pieces box (yes, it moved too!!), I think most of them are Basic Grey but I'm not 100% sure. The sentiment is also a recent purchase from Stampin Up (another addiction) called 'Perfectly Penned' and I think the vintage style suits this card quite well!!

I hope you will have time to pop over to the main Here come the boys blog to see all the wonderful work from the rest of the team who have been so kind and welcomed me back - hugs to you all!!

Looking forward to seeing your entries too!!
