Forever Friends Santa Bear

Afternoon Folks!
Wow, can you believe that it is December 1st today??
Where did November go...??
I'm also running behind with this post, I meant to schedule it yesterday but we went out for the day and I completely forgot!! So without further ado, here's my DT card for the new challenge at Here Come the Boys which is everyone's favourite:

(masculine projects only please!!)

This challenge is our last one of the year and it's going to be running until 3rd January so you have plenty of time to join in!!
I've used a favourite Forever Friends stamp on my card - it seems to come out every Christmas !!

This is my first attempt at colouring with pencils on kraft card and I'm quite pleased with the finished result - even if my camera tried to make all the red colours a bit orangey!!
Also an early attempt at CAS with lots of space, I kept thinking about adding some holly berries in the corner but managed to step away!!

Hope you can join us, we have two lovely prizes on offer!!
I'd also like to enter the following challenges:

Natalie & Amy - Cute and cuddly Christmas
CHNC Extra - Christmas
Come and get it challenges - Christmas & blog hop

What the Heck happened??

Morning Folks!
Happy Sunday to you all!
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Here come the Boys which is

SENTIMENTS ONLY

As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew exactly which stamp to use - it's from the Indigo Blu set called 'Little Voice' -
it just makes me laugh and was perfect for an old family friend who was celebrating his 70th birthday!
The papers are Docrafts 'Wellington' which have a nice distressed look, although I have added some extra ink!!

The frame is cut from Nestabilities labels 15 and has been stuck on with foam tape so the card has a bit of dimension.

I couldn't find a suitable pocket watch charm or embellishment the right size, so I decided to make my own using this brass effect fastener (from ebay) , a tiny clock face from a scrap of Craft Creations paper and lots of glossy accents. The chain is from Hobbycraft.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you can join us over at Here Come the Boys!!

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:
Natalie & Amy - For the boys
As you like it - Spots or stripes
(I love both as you can see but I guess if I really had to choose it would be stripes because they can be tiny weeny or big bold and broad in a way that spots can't!!)
That Craft place - Sentiments

EDITED TO ADD:
MADE THE TOP 5 AT AS YOU LIKE IT!!

AND TOP 3 AT THAT CRAFT PLACE

Rocking Snowman

Morning Folks!
I know these posts are like buses, nothing for ages and then 2 posts in one weekend!! Well at least that's what I'm hoping happens as I'm leaving Mr Blogger to sort this one out for me so fingers crossed...

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Here Come the Boys, we'd like to see

ROCKER CARDS

Now, nobody panic quite a few of the team, me included, had never made a rocker card before but I have to say I don't think it will be my last, I love the way it turned out and was much easier than I first thought it might be!! there are also lots of great tutorials on the web to help you!!

Here's my card, I used grand nesties to cut out the base bit and then blew the dust off some Snowman decoupage that I have had for ages to make a topper. I had to tweek it a little to get the card to balance as the layers added a bit of weight but nothing too complicated.

Hope you are feeling brave and give the rocker challenge a go, all the details and fab makes from the rest of my teamies are on the Here Come the Boys Blog here. By the way, did I mention we have a fab prize on offer from our sponsors Bugaboo, so what are you waiting for??

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
2 Sisters challenge = Christmas but no red or green
Totally Gorjuss = Anything goes plus Snow
A gem of  a Challenge = Christmas is coming
Allsorts = Christmas Cheer
Cute Card Thursday = Sparkles
Polkadoodles = Anything Christmas
Crafty calendar = Christmas

Antlers....

Morning Folks!

Yay Sunday, time for a lazy lie in, tea in bed and the start of a new challenge at Here come the Boys!!

This time our challenge is

CHRISTMAS IN BROWN and CREAM

Now, I have to say this had me a little stumped at first because it's not a colour combo I had associated with Christmas, but then I guess that's why it is a challenge!!

Here's what I came up with after some head scratching and rummaging through my stash
Sorry about the dark picture, in real life the deer is a chocolate brown colour and the background embossing is quite creamy but my camera had other ideas.....

The very handsome deer with the gorgeous antlers is by Stampin Up which I bought a few months ago... I was trying so hard not to buy more Xmas stuff but I just couldn't resist!!
The die cut border is by Memory box and the embossing folder is by cuttlebug.

Here's the border with some added gems and some very old ribbon from my collection!!

Please head over to the main HCTB challenge blog to get some inspiration from the rest of the design team and all the challenge details!
Don't forget our challenge is all about making cards for men - young and old - so girly cards are not allowed!!!

Thanks for visiting today and enjoy the rest of the weekend!!
I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Stamping Sensations - All Creatures Great and Small
Sweet Stampin Christmas - Cards for Men

Toy Giraffe

Morning Folks!
Goodness me, this last fortnight seems to have whizzed past, I can't believe it's time for another challenge over at Here Come the Boys. This time we'd like to see your
BABY BOY CARDS

Now, I normally love making baby cards but for some reason my mojo disappeared completely this week. I had a completely different card in my head but it just didn't work and so in the end I went for something quite CAS!!
The super cute giraffe image is from Jellypark , I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it - I'm a big giraffe fan!! I've printed 3 copies, coloured them with promarkers and layered them up to give more depth. The sentiment is from Stampin Up and the heart banner is from Simon says Stamp. The papers are pretty old, perhaps dovecraft but I'm not sure!!

Thanks for visiting today, please head over to the main HCTB blog for all the challenge details and inspiration from the rest of the team!! I'm off to hunt down my mojo in a bit!!

Blue, Blue Christmas...

Morning Folks!
Hope you are enjoying the weekend! Last time at Here Come the Boys we enjoyed seeing your Lazy Summer Day creations, this fortnight we are leaping forward in the year with our new theme:

BLUE CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER

Now, try not to panic because the 'C' word has been mentioned - there's still plenty of shopping days to go!!!

I went for a CAS style with my card, there are a lot of pics after I persuaded my camera that the colour of the card is sparkly turquoise and not a mucky green shade!

Flat view:

The tree stamp is 'Open Tree' by Hobby Art and it has been stamped with a turquoise Brilliance ink pad and then embossed with clear embossing powder. As it's for Christmas I added a bit of bling:

The sentiment inside has been stamped and embossed too, it's from the Stampin Up Wacky Wishes set:

The inside panel was decorated with a memory box die
 Our sponsor this time is
who is offering the winner a digi of their choice.

A really quick post from me today, just to let you know we have a great new sketch challenge starting over at Here Come the Boys today. Here's the sketch, created by the lovely Woo:

and here's my card using another Stamping Bella stamp which I won on ebay:

The robot is very cute but quite tiny, only about 2" high, so I used ribbons and ric rac rather than papers in the background so he didn't get overwhelmed!
