Pink Butterfly gift box!

I'm late, I'm late, Oh how embarassing I'm late posting my project for my second guest DT spot over at
I'm sooo sorry girls!
Anyway, I don't know about you but I'm all Christmassed out! I've only got one last family card to put the finishing touches on and I'm done - thank heavens! The girls over at Creative Craft Challenges have a nice 'Anything goes' challenge and so I decided to ditch the snowflakes in favour of something pink and girly for my friends birthday next month - a little gift box to hold a piece of jewellery! Here it is:

The idea for this little box came from a packet of ready cut gift boxes from Poundland. There are several different box types flat packed in the packet and so I just used them as cardboard templates! A bit fiddly to cut out but great fun to decorate!! I have used a fairly stiff paper from the Henbury Lane collection and some glitter card by DCWV.

The little tag is a nesties label attatched with ribbon and the butterflys are a Dovecraft punch.

The roses have been wired to the top handles and glammed up a bit with a hint of stickles!!

Thanks for looking and I do hope your festive preparations are going OK!
Don't forget to visit Creative Craft Challenges - there are TWO great prizes on offer!!

As usual I can't resist entering a few challenges:
Paperplay - Anything but a card

Snowy bear for someone special!!

Exciting news today!! I have been invited to be the guest designer at Creative Craft challenges this month - how cool is that! Thanks for inviting me ladies - big smile.

Their challenge this time is a recipe:
1 ribbon , 2 papers &
3 brads

So here's my card, it's quite a special one as it's for my husband - it's OK he doesn't read my blog.

I've used my new James Bear in the snow from LOTV, I just fell in love with him as soon as I saw him!! I've coloured him with promarkers and then added another of my favourite things at the moment - Doodlebug white crushed velvet flock and glamour dust to his hat and the snowflakes. The snow on the gound is glamour dust and the snowflakes have a little stickles added too. It is Christmas, so I figure you can't have too much glitter!!

Here's a closer look:

I've used some papers from last year, the back one is from Dovecraft and the blue dotty one behind James is from my scrap box, could be papermania?? The white pearlescent card is embossed with a snowflake cuttlebug folder (used this a lot this year!!) and the gorgeous ribbon is from The Art of Craft, it's hard to see but the silver snowflakes are slightly raised which adds more texture. The little tag is from a Forever friends kit, the smaller snowflake is made from a cuttlebug die and the larger silver one is by making memories - I've had these for ages but never actually used one before - lol!! The white sugared brads are by Doodlebug.
Hope you like James in the snow!!

Anniversary Heart

Hi Folks, well can you believe it, I had some time this afternoon to craft and then Mr Mojo has gone and left the building. All the design team stuff I needed to get done seemed to be cursed, I've coloured over lines, lost my glamour dust and can't seem to cut straight to save my life!!

Anyways, determined not to be beaten I had a cuppa and then decided to do something else and I ended up making this Anniversary card for the fab challenge over at Creative Craft, who are celebrating their 1st blogoversary with a challenge to make an Anniversary / celebration card.

I've heat embossed the heart image, one of my fav stamps of all time by Prima, using cosmic shimmer glittery red embossing powder . I've added an eyelet and suspended the heart on some ribbon so that it can swing!! Sorry for the poor pictures, I hate this time of year for taking piccys!! In real life the embossing and ribbon are quite sparkly and the little gems show up a bit better!

Vintage car

Today's card was a mega fast one for me - I'm not normally a quick crafter but this one came together really quickly. The vintage car is from a sheet of 12" x 12" scrapbook paper by Graphic 45 which I bought at the beginning of the summer and have been admiring ever since!! Today I finally plucked up the courage to cut into it!!
The other papers were scraps from my box, Basic Grey and MME (I think) along with a recycled envelope for the kraft paper background! The greeting is computer generated and cut with a nestie and attatched with a brad. All the edges have been inked with chestnut chalk. I'm really chuffed with the way this came out and I still have lots of cars left to play with so I think there might be some more vintage classics coming along soon!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Rosie D's: One for the boys
Polka Doodles: Vintage Style
& Truly Scrumptious: Great Sketch!
Thanks for looking!!

Party Giraffe

As well as being Father's day, today is also my husbands birthday, so a double celebration in our house. As Alex is quite tall (6ft 4"+) and I am much much shorter, he has always had the nick name of Giraffe and it has become something of a family tradition to get him cards/presents with a giraffe theme. Over the years, he has received an amazing amount of giraffe goodies! This image is one I saw on Dustin Pikes site ages ago and I knew it would be just perfect for this years card! It just makes me grin everytime I see it, I love the whole wacky idea of giraffes wearing party hats and blowing party tooters (not quite a vuvuzela, but I'm sure he could make a racket........)
The image is coloured with promarkers and the papers are from a Mat Stack by DCVW. I used the fab sketch over at Friday Sketchers but decided to change the bottom scalloped edge into party bunting - took a while but love the end result! Don't think it shows up too well on the piccy but the tooter, party hat, tie and bunting are all glittered up using gel pens.
I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges:
My Time to craft:Xtra special
Creative Craft Challenge: For the man in your life (or should that be Giraffe??)
One Stop Craft Challenge: One for the boys
Off to cook something nice for dinner now...Have a good evening!

Party Owl

This is my second post today, so I guess you can probably tell there has been NO i***ing done !! This card was a rare flash of inspiration for me, well very rare in fact... I had some nesties laying on my desk waiting to be tidied away and also 'Birthday Hoot' from Pink Gem, waiting to be put into a CD case for storage. Anyways, I suddenly realised that the owl fitted the hexagon really well and then I remembered the crafty cardmakers challenge this week which is 'Inside out' so I thought why not put the owl inside (3rd piccy down) and make her a little window to look out of!! Not exactly genius I know, but I'm happy LOL!! Coloured the owl with promarkers and mounted onto a hexagonal piece of Bazzill bling. The balloon paper is from Dovecraft birthday stack, birthday brad and ribbon are both from my stash. Tricky bit was getting the bow right.....still not 100% sure about it. I'd like to enter Mrs Owl into the following challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers : Inside out
A spoonful of sugar: Celebrations
My time to craft: Vivid colours (hope this is bright enough!)
