Fairy Tale Unicorn!

Just a quick card to share with you today (providng Mr Blogger hasn't overdone things at Christmas!!). We have a new challenge at Lexi's Creations:

PINK WINTER BIRTHDAY!

We are sponsored by Joanna Sheen too!!

I've used this cute unicorn called Aloria to make a card for a special little friend of mine who will be 9 on New Years Day!

The image has been coloured with promarkers and gold glitter pen, it doesn't show up too well in the piccy ;-( but there is a bit of sparkle there. I've used a nesties die to make the little frame at the top, I like to think of it as a tiara!! The pearly gems were magazine freebies and the papers are all from my scrap box! The sentiment is from a docrafts Xmas sheet!

Thanks for looking!

Pink Butterfly gift box!

I'm late, I'm late, Oh how embarassing I'm late posting my project for my second guest DT spot over at
I'm sooo sorry girls!
Anyway, I don't know about you but I'm all Christmassed out! I've only got one last family card to put the finishing touches on and I'm done - thank heavens! The girls over at Creative Craft Challenges have a nice 'Anything goes' challenge and so I decided to ditch the snowflakes in favour of something pink and girly for my friends birthday next month - a little gift box to hold a piece of jewellery! Here it is:

The idea for this little box came from a packet of ready cut gift boxes from Poundland. There are several different box types flat packed in the packet and so I just used them as cardboard templates! A bit fiddly to cut out but great fun to decorate!! I have used a fairly stiff paper from the Henbury Lane collection and some glitter card by DCWV.

The little tag is a nesties label attatched with ribbon and the butterflys are a Dovecraft punch.

The roses have been wired to the top handles and glammed up a bit with a hint of stickles!!

Thanks for looking and I do hope your festive preparations are going OK!
Don't forget to visit Creative Craft Challenges - there are TWO great prizes on offer!!

As usual I can't resist entering a few challenges:
Paperplay - Anything but a card
Allsorts - Anything goes
CES Challenges - Anything goes
Die Cut Dreams - how girly can you get?
&
Papertake weekly - Anything goes

Prairie Fairy Candy

Just doing a little blog hopping tonight and I came across this fantastic candy on offer from The Prairie Fairy who is calling it "spread the word candy" to announce she is moving back to blogger rather than Wordpress. If you have any links to Prairie Fairy you need to change them to the blogger url!! The candy is gorgeous and you can check out all the details here. Good luck to everyone who enters, what a fantastic extra Christmas present this would be!

A splash of colour!

Happy Thursday Folks! Now I have to admit that seeing the rate at which the doors are flying open on the old advent calendar I'm getting a little bit stressed about Christmas but I'm just telling myself that it will all be OK on the day!! Todays task is to get the wrapping up done before my son finishes school tomorrow lunchtime!!

I took a welcome break from Christmas cards when I made my card for this weeks challenge at C.R.A.F.T.

In case you haven't guessed our challenge this week is:

BLACK, WHITE & A SPLASH OF COLOUR!!

This is a bit of an unusual card for me because I rarely use HOT pink and I also didn't use a stamp !! The idea came to me after I found the paper in my stash, Kate Knight for Trimcraft I think, and the matching flowers. The button just finishes it nicely I think:

All of us at CRAFT hope that you an find time in your busy schedules to come and join us!!
We are being sponsored by

I'd also like to enter this card into the challenge at:

Husband & Wife!

I'm celebrating!! This will be my last Monday at work for this year!! Sounds good doesn't it!! I can't wait to finish on Wednesday, there are so many things I need to get done before Crimbo!!

Monday also means it's time for another fab challenge over at Lexi's Creations, this time we'd like to see you using:

GLITTER & PEARLS

Now, I have to admit that when I first saw this challenge I thought of doing a Christmas card but I am getting a bit tired of doing them (only 2 to go!!), so instead I decided to do something I don't normally go for and just use a sentiment on my card:

The sentiment is from Lexi's Fairy Dust crafts Shop and is called Husband & Wife. Lexi is offering a prize from her shop for the winner of this challenge!! Here's a closer look:

The pearls are on the sentiment, along with a few gold gems and the flowers have had a touch of gold stickles added:

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, in real life this is a bit brighter and the gold is quite sparkly!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Creative Card Crew: Anything goes
CES Challenges: Anything but a Christmas card

Thanks for looking and hope you can join us over at Lexi's!!

Trying to get organised!!

Help!! Can you believe how close Christmas is?? I need to get myself organised, which is easier said than done! For this weeks challenge at C.R.A.F.T. , we would like to see projects using the following colour palette:

In an effort to get organised, I have altered a shopping list pad and made it into a notepad to write down all those lists of things to do and stuff to remember!

The winner could win their own copy of this fantastic Rufus Reindeer stamp by Eiglas, which many of the design team have used. He is just so cute and great fun to colour - thanks Ei!!

I think perhaps this sums it all up at the moment!!

Thanks for looking and we hope you can find time to join us at CRAFT this week!

I'd also like to enter this into the challenge at:

Snowy bear for someone special!!

Exciting news today!! I have been invited to be the guest designer at Creative Craft challenges this month - how cool is that! Thanks for inviting me ladies - big smile.

Their challenge this time is a recipe:
1 ribbon , 2 papers &
3 brads

So here's my card, it's quite a special one as it's for my husband - it's OK he doesn't read my blog.

I've used my new James Bear in the snow from LOTV, I just fell in love with him as soon as I saw him!! I've coloured him with promarkers and then added another of my favourite things at the moment - Doodlebug white crushed velvet flock and glamour dust to his hat and the snowflakes. The snow on the gound is glamour dust and the snowflakes have a little stickles added too. It is Christmas, so I figure you can't have too much glitter!!

Here's a closer look:

I've used some papers from last year, the back one is from Dovecraft and the blue dotty one behind James is from my scrap box, could be papermania?? The white pearlescent card is embossed with a snowflake cuttlebug folder (used this a lot this year!!) and the gorgeous ribbon is from The Art of Craft, it's hard to see but the silver snowflakes are slightly raised which adds more texture. The little tag is from a Forever friends kit, the smaller snowflake is made from a cuttlebug die and the larger silver one is by making memories - I've had these for ages but never actually used one before - lol!! The white sugared brads are by Doodlebug.
Hope you like James in the snow!!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Christmas Scottie dogs

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all staying warm and cosy in this cold weather. It's Thursday again and time for a new challenge at C.R.A.F.T.
This time we would like to see your projects for

CHRISTMAS BIRTHDAY
We are sponsored again by

Now I have to admit that the three people I know who have birthdays close to christmas all hate having birthday cards that look like Christmas cards or worse still a Christmas card sent instead of a birthday card! Bearing this in mind, I have used a Tartan paper (somehow always reminds me of Christmas - why??) , a dark Christmas green colour and a few splashes of gold. Hopefully a 'hint' of Christmas
The stamped images are from a larger stamp from Little Claire which I bought years ago at a craft show, it was one of the first clear stamps in my collection! They are coloured with promarkers.
The little dog charm is also antique and from Crafty charms on ebay!

I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges:
Oldie but a Goodie - Xmas birthday
Party time Tuesdays - Anything goes birthday!
Passion for promarkers - Old & New (old stamp and charm, new tartan paper)
Fab N Funky : Birthday
Bee Crafty's card Challenge : Anything goes but include white

Stay warm folks!
