Thank You Teacher

Morning Folks!!
As lots of you are bracing yourselves for the long school holidays ahead, we have a very appropriate challenge for you over at CRAFT this week:

THANK YOU TEACHER!!

I consulted my son on his teachers possible likes and dislikes and the best he could come up with after giving it a moments thought was "Something pink and girlie". After that incredible brief here's my card:

I'm still trying to be good and use some of my older neglected stamps and paper scraps. I think most people like the Forever Friends bears so I figured this was a safe bet. The brown stripey paper is a scrap of Doodlebug bon bon stripes and the pink dotted one is from the Dovecraft Piece of Cake collection. I've used quite soft pastel promarkers to colour the image and a Marianne die for the background frame. The dust was also blown off the MS Doiley lace punch for the border!!

I wasn't very keen on the plain kraft inside so I decorated that too and then just as I was finishing this, Lynne at Sentiments 4 you posted the perfect freebie sentiment to finish it off. Thanks Lynne!!

Our sponsors for this challenge are Lauretta's Digital Stamps
& The Stamping Boutique 5 images of your choice

so please head over to the main blog to join us!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cupcake Craftroom - Polka Dots
Forever Friends - Stripes
Allsorts - Free & Easy
Stamptacular Sunday - Animal Antics
Papertake Weekly - Getting Cute
Cupcake Inspirations - Photo Inspiration
(I've used the colours as inspiration and also daisy flowers)

Crafty Creations - Seeing double (mirrored borders)
MAWTT - Cute & Cuddly with a punch
Craft Us Crazy - Anything goes

All boxed up!!

Morning Folks!!

I am in such a good mood today - it's the first day of the Summer holidays for me - no work until September - woohoo!! I am planning on settling back and doing a bit of crafting later, the only snag is my craft area looks like a bombsite and I haven't seen more than 6 inches of my desk for the last fortnight!!!! Will have to get myself organised after another cuppa!!

This weeks challenge over at CRAFT is

BOXES

so get out those templates, scoring tools or ready mades and join us!!
We are sponsored by Toucan Scraps this time.

I got to play with this cute box from Angela called 'Hannahs wedding floral Box' which is a bargain and really quick to make!!

I love yellow and for some reason as soon as I saw the shape of the box made up, I immediately thought of using one of my favourite Penny Black stamps on it - Bah Quet.

The little sheep has been coloured with promarkers and the face has been stamped twice and cut out and mounted on foam pads to give it a bit of depth. Ovals cut out with nesties but somehow a scalloped oval nestie didn't look quite right so I went for an oversized Heidi Swapp flower for a background frame instead!

I added a bit of wild honey distress ink to the edges for a bit more definition, a few butterfly gems and some green and yellow ribbons to tie it shut.

I'm really quite pleased with the finished result, especially considering how quick it was to make!! Thanks for looking and please head over to the main CRAFT blog to see the rest of the DT's lovely creations!

I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges:

Penny Black at Allsorts - Flower Power
Totally Papercrafts - Bingo - gems, flowers and die cuts!
Crafty Catz - Colours of summer
Allsorts challenge - Free and Easy
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Desert Island stamp (it's nearly impossible to choose a favourite PB stamp but I think any of the sheep ones would be at the top of my list!!)
Sparkles Forum - recipe 1 image, 1 flower, 2 ribbons
Craft your passion - anything goes
Papertake weekly - Anything goes
Creative Craft challenges - Pretty blossoms
Passion for promarkers - tie a yellow ribbon
Get Creative - Green, orange and yellow
Delightful Challenges - On the farm

Edit : Made the Top 3 at Sparkles !!!

Pink Princess

Morning Folks!!

Hope you are all OK, just a very quick post from me today to tell you that the challenge at CRAFT is to

INCLUDE STITCHING (real or faux)

We are sponsored by Aifactory

who are giving our winner 2 digi stamps.

I was lucky enough to get to play with this fab image from them called 'Princess' which brought on another pink moment!! Strange thing is I don't really like pink, I just use it on cards a lot!!

I had to think about how to include stitching on this and then I had a light bulb moment - a very rare and quite surprising event! - I decided to stitch some beads on her dress and crown.

Then added some sequin flower embellishments, again stitched together. Finally I gathered up a piece of ribbon with a simple running stitch to add some texture to the bottom of the card.

Thanks for looking today!!

I'd also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crazy Challenge: Monochrome
Paper Sundaes: Girly girl
2 sisters: 1 image, 2 papers, 3 embellishments (beads, ribbon, flowers)

Card Makin Mamas: For a child

Relax & enjoy!!

Happy Thursday Folks!!

It's time for another challenge at CRAFT and this time our theme is:

FATHER'S DAY

which is fast approaching, so a good time to get your card made!!

I've had this Gruffies decoupage in my stash from Joanna Sheen for ages and I must admit I'd forgotten about it until I was having a bit of a tidy up!! Can you have too much stash I wonder??!! Anyway I decided this would be a perfect image for my Dad, who has a reputation for falling asleep as soon as he sits down on the sofa!! I had also forgotten how long it takes to do decoupage...it took forever to cut this out and I nearly gave up!!

As the finished image is quite big I decided to keep the rest of the card really simple with just some matting and layering. The sentiment is a bit hard to read in the photo but it says 'It's a hard life'

Isn't he so cute...

Side view of the layers:

Finished the card off with this resin sunflower which I have also rediscovered, I bought this in a Craft Central closing down sale, probably 2 years ago - I knew it would come in useful.....eventually!!

Hope you can join us at CRAFT this time, we are sponsored by Some Odd Girl

so you could be the lucky winner of 3 images .

I'd also like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Fussy and Fancy Friday: Card for man / boy
Creative Inspiration: Card for Dad
Sparkles Forum: Father's Day
Paper Sundaes: Include a sentiment
Craft your passion: Anything goes
The Crazy challenge: Father's Day
Pear Tree design : Summer delights

Wedding Bears

Morning Folks!!
I swear this week is flying by faster than normal - it's Thursday already!
This week at CRAFT we'd like to see you create something with a wedding / love theme. I made this card a few weeks ago for my cousin and his new wife who got married at Easter but didn't get around to blogging it! It's my first attempt at a white on white card. I've often admired them and I think they look especially stylish for weddings so I got out the cuttlebug folders and nesties and gave it a go!!

Here's a closer look at the Forever Friends decoupage, I haven't used any decoupage sheets for ages and I'd forgotten how much fun they can be!! The sentiment is from a Craftwork cards goodie bag. The picture doesn't show it too well but the card is a lovely white pearlescent one so it does have a nice sheen to it in real life!!

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope to see your romantic creations over at CRAFT - you could be the winner of a $10 voucher for

Little spaceman

Gosh folks, I can't believe it is Thursday already!!
I haven't had much time to craft this week but I have managed to finish my DT card for CRAFT where our new theme is:

ALIENS and SPACE

I have used an image from Digital Delights, who kindly sponsored our 'Star of the Month' for April, it's called Billy and Rocket 2.

I've coloured the image with promarkers and then added glossy accents over the face to make it look like a visor. The paper is an odd sheet from DCWV and the rub on super star sentiment was a free gift from a magazine years ago!! It's finally come in useful!!

The prize for this challenge is a gift voucher from Truly Madly Crafty . I do hope you can join us this week and a quick shout out because next week is going to be extra special:

Thanks for looking !

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:
