Time for cake.....

Afternoon Folks,
I just wanted to share my card that I finally managed to finish this morning for the 100th House Mouse & Friends challenge and blog hop. I coloured this cute Gruffies image on Monday night but it has taken me the rest of the week to get the card finished - I think I must be the slowest crafter in the country!! The speed wasn't helped by the fact that I didn't the right width of ribbon for the bottom until I went shopping yesterday. My husband couldn't believe that despite having a huge ribbon collection, I didn't have something 'that would do' - I was trying to explain that the idea that 'something will do' doesn't work for me - it has to be how I want it to look!! Not sure he got my meaning but he is very tolerant and didn't roll his eyes too much when I left the shop with more ribbon!!

Here's a closer look at the image called Beary Nice Celebration, isn't he so cute stuffing his chops with cake!! I've coloured him with promarkers and added stickles to the frosting and candles to make them sparkle - wish the picture was a bit better so you could see the glitter on the image and the papers properly.
The finishing touch is a few ribbon streamers - I love the internet, I googled ribbon twirls and found this great tutorial on how to bake grosgrain ribbon!! Yes, my husband is now certain I have lost the plot after I removed a baking tray of cooked ribbon wrapped around wooden spoons from the oven!!! I'm really pleased with the finished effect though!!!

Thanks for looking I'm off to complete the House Mouse blog hop.

I'd also like to enter the following challenges too:

Popple

It's one of my favourite challenges over at Lexi's Creations this fortnight:

SHAPED CARDS

I needed a quick card for a small friend so I decided to use Popple on a large scale - printed on to pale green paper with promarker highlights. The tongue is just a triangle of glittery paper posted through a slit cut in the mouth. The eye has been glittered with stickles and I couldn't resist adding a large goggly eye and a pom pom too!! The metallic backgound card has been embossed for a bit of extra interest! Quick to make but it seemed quite well received!!

Hope you can join us at Lexi's, we are sponsored by Letraset so a nice prize on offer too!!

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:
Top Tip Tuesdays - Shaped cards
Crafts 4 Eternity - Shaped cards
The corrosive challenge - All about kids

Hey Old Timer!!

Hi Folks!!

Hope your weekend is going well. Has anyone seen a glimpse of sunshine in the UK at all?? I'm beginning to think that we are heading towards autumn already and that somehow I missed the summer!!

Anyway, if the weather is not great, it gives us an excuse to do more crafting and we have a new challenge over at Here Come the Boys for you:

TRAVEL

I think it is going to be quite popular as men and travel do seem to go together!!

We are sponsored by Ewe2can craft this time

Sheep_Banner[1]

with this great prize:

Now I have to admit that I'm not too sure about my card, you know how sometimes you set out with an idea to make a card and the finished result is nothing like your original plan??
Well this is one of those cards!!
The photo doesn't help either - my camera seems to have insisted on making the copper metallic card orange and the beige backing paper a bit pink - groan!!
Anyway, enough winging here it is:

The penny farthing stamp is by rubber Stampede and has been combined with various nesties and a few carefully selected letters from K&Co!!
Here's a closer look at the image, heat embossed in copper!!
I didn't have any large copper brads so I heat embossed some card candy to match too!!

Thanks for looking today and I hope you will join us at HCTB too!!
I'd also like to enter a few challenges:

Simon says Stamp & Show: Embossing ( I hope this is a suitable style for your challenge??)
Kaboodle Doodles: Embossing
Tuesday Throwdown: Something metallic (Copper Embossing!!)
Dig Doodle Shop: Clean & Simple

Thank You Teacher

Morning Folks!!
As lots of you are bracing yourselves for the long school holidays ahead, we have a very appropriate challenge for you over at CRAFT this week:

THANK YOU TEACHER!!

I consulted my son on his teachers possible likes and dislikes and the best he could come up with after giving it a moments thought was "Something pink and girlie". After that incredible brief here's my card:

I'm still trying to be good and use some of my older neglected stamps and paper scraps. I think most people like the Forever Friends bears so I figured this was a safe bet. The brown stripey paper is a scrap of Doodlebug bon bon stripes and the pink dotted one is from the Dovecraft Piece of Cake collection. I've used quite soft pastel promarkers to colour the image and a Marianne die for the background frame. The dust was also blown off the MS Doiley lace punch for the border!!

I wasn't very keen on the plain kraft inside so I decorated that too and then just as I was finishing this, Lynne at Sentiments 4 you posted the perfect freebie sentiment to finish it off. Thanks Lynne!!

Our sponsors for this challenge are Lauretta's Digital Stamps

A row of butterflies

Hello again!!
I can't believe how quickly these days are flying past lately,
it's time for another new challenge over at CRAFT. A nice easy one:

BUTTERFLIES

I have been tidying up my stash for the last few days and I came across these 'window' cards that I've had for about 4 years. I bought them at a craft show and have never used them, now I can't remember what the original idea was! So with this as the card base I set myself the challenge of going through my stash and scraps box and using up other old stuff too, so here's the end result using stickers, ribbons and some paper scraps....

We have 2 fantastic prizes this week,
Craft Obsessions (one of my favourite stores) are offering a £10 voucher for their shop

& Floppy Latte are also sponsoring us

so please come over and join the fun!!

Might need shades!!

WARNING THIS IS QUITE A BRIGHT CARD!!

Hello again! Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!!
I think the bear on this card is certainly enjoying himself:

It's my design team card for Lexi's Creations this fortnight, where the theme is 'At the beach'. Actually, this image was originally a Christmas release, called 'Can I go again - Paulo Bear' and the little bear is supposed to be buried in snow. When I was deciding which image to use something struck me about this looking like a bear buried in sand, perhaps it was the paws sticking out! The backing paper is by Basic Grey - Isabelle from the Oh baby girl collection. I had to really push myself to cut into it !!. The die cuts are by Jolees and have been in my stash for the last 5 years at least!! About time I used things instead of collecting them methinks!!

Thanks for popping by and don't forget to join us at Lexi's !

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Just Tracys Crafts - Summer holidays
Creative Inspirations - To the seaside
Do it with Digis - Spots or Stripes

HCTB Challenge : Sporty

Morning Folks!
I do hope your weekend is going well. Our new challenge over at 'Here Come the Boys' starts today and we have a nice easy theme for you:

SPORTY

I had a rummage through my stamps and found this old favourite which I thought would be quite suitable. It's called Fishing Ted and is by Funstamps, I bought it about 3 years ago at a car boot sale!!
I teamed it up with a recent paper purchase, Karen Foster's Green fish Texture as the backing paper, plus a few bits and piece from my scraps collection (which is growing again!!). The little 'Have Fun' sentiment is by LOTV.

Here's a closer look, the image is coloured with promarkers and a touch of stickles for the water. The fish charm is from Ewe2can craft.

Thanks for looking, please head over to the main blog for all the prize details and the rest of the design team girls fantastic creations. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

All boxed up!!

Morning Folks!!

I am in such a good mood today - it's the first day of the Summer holidays for me - no work until September - woohoo!! I am planning on settling back and doing a bit of crafting later, the only snag is my craft area looks like a bombsite and I haven't seen more than 6 inches of my desk for the last fortnight!!!! Will have to get myself organised after another cuppa!!

This weeks challenge over at CRAFT is

BOXES

so get out those templates, scoring tools or ready mades and join us!!
We are sponsored by Toucan Scraps this time.

I got to play with this cute box from Angela called 'Hannahs wedding floral Box' which is a bargain and really quick to make!!

I love yellow and for some reason as soon as I saw the shape of the box made up, I immediately thought of using one of my favourite Penny Black stamps on it - Bah Quet.

The little sheep has been coloured with promarkers and the face has been stamped twice and cut out and mounted on foam pads to give it a bit of depth. Ovals cut out with nesties but somehow a scalloped oval nestie didn't look quite right so I went for an oversized Heidi Swapp flower for a background frame instead!

I added a bit of wild honey distress ink to the edges for a bit more definition, a few butterfly gems and some green and yellow ribbons to tie it shut.

I'm really quite pleased with the finished result, especially considering how quick it was to make!! Thanks for looking and please head over to the main CRAFT blog to see the rest of the DT's lovely creations!

I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges:

Penny Black at Allsorts - Flower Power
Totally Papercrafts - Bingo - gems, flowers and die cuts!
