Little Giraffe

Afternoon Folks!
I was lucky enough to win some digi's  from Pink Gem this week and as soon as this cute little giraffe arrived I wanted to colour her up. While colouring I thought how sweet this would be for a new baby girl card, so this afternoon I dumped the duster and finished off this card using the sketch over at A gem of a Challenge. My mojo wouldn't run to a freestyle arrangement as well as colouring and sorting out matching papers  :-) !!!!
I'm feeling quite proud of the end result, I've made quite a few masculine cards lately and it was nice to rummage through the embellishments and go a bit girly for a change!! I also used up some bits and pieces that I've had for ages. The paper is Chatterbox scrapbook walls which I bought in the January sales 3 years ago and the lace was a RAK from 2 years ago and the peach satin ribbon, underneath the lace to make it stand out a bit more, has been in my ribbon basket forever!!

Here's a closer look at the details. I do wish the light was better, IRL the colours are more of a soft peach and pale coral!

Thanks for looking today and for any comments you might leave, they are all special to me!!

Piggin Cute!!

Morning Folks!
Just looking at the date and I'm very pleased to see January is nearly over!!
We have a fun recipe challenge for you over at CRAFT this week - nice and easy even if you aren't a great cook!!! Here are the details:

The Stamping Boutique

I love pigs so this image, called Patchwork pig, was the obvious choice from our sponsor, The Stamping Boutique.

Mr Piggy has been printed on to pink and cream paper and then layered up to give the card a bit of depth. Also added a few little highlights with promarkers to give him some extra definition.

Here's my card:

The papers are from my stash (yes I will use some of it up) and I think pink and brown look great together. I've added a bit of saddle stitch ribbon and a few buttons. I've also been brave and doodled on a bit of faux stitching to link the image and ribbon a bit more. By the way, we are lucky to have two additional sponsors over at CRAFT this week, so there are lots of prizes on offer!!

Take it Easy....

Afternoon folks from a rather grey and dull Hampshire.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend!
I ditched the housework this morning in favour of finishing off a card I started in the week for the Black & White only challenge over at House Mouse & Friends. Sounded simples right.....Oooohhh how wrong can you be, this was much tougher than I thought.!! First the temptation to colour the mouse was quite difficult - he still seems a bit 'naked' but I'm getting used to it. Then I didn't realise how many different variations of black papers there are when you get them together. Got my act together and then found my small white flower collection seems to have disappeared so I ended up cutting my own flower centres with nesties carnation dies! Finally got to taking the pictures and the camera wanted to use the flash and got stroppy and added a pink tinge to things when I turned the flash off!!! Anyway, here is the finished result:

I got there in the end!!
Thanks for looking today and enjoy the rest of the weekend!!
I'd also like to enter:
Pixie Cottage - Embossing (Swiss dots folder)
2 sisters - Embossing (Swiss dots folder)

I demand a recount.....

Morning Folks!
Can anyone tell me how it is Thursday again, this last week seems to have gone so fast and it doesn't seem like 5 minutes since I posted about the last CRAFT challenge!!

Anyway, this week we'd like to see you

USE NUMBERS

We have 3 great sponsors for this challenge, so lots of chances to win a great prize!!

DigiDarla and Digital Stamp Club

Floppy Latte Designs

Now, I have to confess I am a BIG fan of Bugaboo stamps because they make me laugh, so I decided to use Gus Birthday Recount, I just love the grumpy old bloke attitude - I'm sure we have all met someone like this!!  I was also brave with this card and broke into a new paper pad, My Mind's Eye Fine & Dandy Boy, which has previously only been stroked and admired - finally plucked up the resolve to actually use it!! Does anyone else have that trouble???

Here's a closer look at that stare!! If the light was a bit better you could see the glossy accents on his glasses and the balloon. In real life it does add something - honest!!

Thanks for looking today and hope you can join us over at CRAFT this week!!

I'd also like to enter Gus into the following challenges:

Glass of bubbly??

Morning Folks!
I know it is a bit early in the day but does anyone fancy a glass of bubbly to launch the new
CELEBRATIONS
challenge over at CRAFT which starts today??
I decided to take a break from stamping with this one and instead set about using up some more old supplies. I've used some Forever Friends decoupage, mirror card and glitter peel off strips. The background is embossed with a Divine Swirls cuttlebug folder.
We have 3 great prizes on offer this week so I hope you can join us!!

Cake and Candles

Hello Folks!
I finished this card last night but had to wait until this afternoon to get a halfway decent photo - roll on Spring!!  My House Mouse addiction continues to grow and looks like lasting well into 2012. I was lucky enough to get this stamp set for Christmas which I think is just adorable and a pleasure to colour. The nesties are also new!!

How cute is this mouse with a full tummy??!!
There is a bit of glitter gel pen on the frosting but I just can't get my camera to pick it up - sigh!

Just fishin' ...

Morning Folks!
Hope you are having a relaxing weekend!
We have a nice easy challenge to get you back into the swing of things over at Here Come the Boys, we'd like to see your creations using this sketch by our lovely team leader Woo:

 Here's my card:

As you can see I have rotated the sketch to suit the image better. I was lucky enough to win some Digi's from Di's Digi downloads recently and this is the first time I have used this one. It's called "Quality time" - so cute even though Daddy & baby bear aren't having much luck in the fishing department!! The backing papers are from The Digital Scrap Cafe with a few starry card candies added!!

Thanks for looking today and be sure to head over to HCTB to see the fab inspiration from the rest of the design team!!

Soppy Spaniel

Morning Folks and Happy New Year!!
Here's my first card for 2012 for the new challenge over at CRAFT which starts today, our theme is:

Thank you !

I've used a lovely image for my card from Karen's Doodles who are one of our sponsors this week.
GRAB OUR BLINKIE

We also have Prizes from Just Tracy's and In2stamps. The cute image is called Puppy with her bone and was a real joy to colour with the old promarkers.

Here's a closer look at those BIG puppy eyes!!

The papers are a recent purchase from Nitwits and I've also used card candi and a sentiment from Craftwork cards,  plus ribbon and brads that have been dug out from my stash. I'm trying to use up bits and bobs that I've got, not a full New Year's resolution but I do think a bit of restraint wouldn't go amiss!!!!
