Malcolm Mouse says Thank you !!

Just a quick post tonight to show you the card I have made for Sandie over in Ireland, I was lucky enough to win some fab blog candy from her and it arrived last week - very exciting and a very Happy Jacky !!The digi image is called Malcolm Mouse and it was a freebie from Digistamp boutique a while ago. I paper pieced his little shirt with a scrap of checked paper from my scraps box, I am trying to be good and use up left over bits and bobs!! The background mount is a cute little doiley from Sandie which I inked with pale blue ink, the little message tag was also from Sandie. The background glitter spot paper is by DCWV, the flowers are by prima, ribbon is Wild asparagus by My Mind's Eye and the snaps are from Making Memories. I used the fab sketch for the April Challenge at In2crafting for some inspiration!! I am also going to enter him into the Pastel Colours challenge over at The Craft Garden this month.
Thanks for looking!!

Ahoy there !!

I have been having fun this afternoon playing around with Cap'n Jack Sparrow!! I know in my dreams.....LOL!!

I've made this altered CD door hanger for my son's bedroom door to save him yelling 'You can't come in' all the time!! This is my first attempt at altering a CD and I must say I really enjoyed it, probably the best use for the freebie Beach Boys CD from the Sunday newspaper!!

The gorgeous image of Johnny is from the Internet, love those eyes..... dream..... skull and crossbones is freebie clip art. I distressed the cream backing card with various inks and screwed it up a bit with the hope of giving it a parchment like texture, & letters are from Basic Grey (Black tie collection). Pirate flag charm is from Quizotic Paperie. I wanted to represnet Cap'n Jacks hair at the bottom, I used fibres from my stash plaited together with beads from my stash and charms. The key charm is from Jolees and the clam shell was also from Quixotic.
Here's the finished product hanging on the door:

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Simon Says Challenge: Let's go to the Movies
Quixotic challenges: Heavy Metal
Totally Gorjuss: Charming
Critter Sketch challenge: 10 items - 2 images, 2 papers, Basic grey letters, 3 charms, fibres, and beads.

Jacques Blogoversary Candy

One of the first blogs I started to follow when I joined blogland was Jacque's Joie de Vivre. Although I am not a huge Magnolia fan, Jacques' cards are just awesome, such little details, fab flowers and ribbons which I love, and great inspiration!! Perhaps one day one of my cards might look that good (perhaps if I practice for the next 100 years LOL!!). All of this creativity is all the more remarkable, as poor Jacque is undergoing chemotherapy just now, I just don't know how she does it !!! Today Jacque is celebrating her One Year Blog Birthday with the most amazing candy I have ever seen, you can check out all the details here.
So for my post today, I'd like to wish Jacque a very Happy Blog Birthday and also send her my very best wishes and hope the chemo sessions go OK, BIG HUGS from the Bear fan !!

Baby Elephant card!!

Hi Folks!! I'm back to the land of blogging after going AWOL for a while after Easter!! I managed to clear a small space on my desk today and get some crafting done, think I must be the worlds most disorganised crafter - or is it because I am untidy?? Perhaps best not to answer that one!!!
Anyways, here is the result of this afternoons efforts, a cute baby elephant card which might become a 'New baby card' - a family friend is due very soon or if the new baby isn't 'pink' as my nephew would say, I thought it would make a nice kids card!!
The inspiration for this card came from the Sketchy Colors challenge, this week the colours are pink, grey & white and as soon as I read them I thought of my new elephant digi stamp! This cutie is from Squigglefly and it is drawn by Crissy Armstrong who has just started a new challenge blog called Sundays with Crissy. The first challenge is 'To make it a combo' so in my usual fashion I decided to combine this card into multiple challenges!! I used the fab sketch over at Sketch & Stash along with my new digi stamp and a sheet of 12" x 12" paper by American Crafts which has been in my stash since forever (not even sure why I bought it originally!!) . Rather appropriately I think my little elephant fits nicely with the challenge recipe over at The Pink Elephant this week, which is to use 1 image, 2 dies (scalloped and plain circle nesties) and 3 favourite embellishments (layered up flowers). Allsorts this week are looking for petals and pearls and My Time to Craft also have pearls as a challenge. Crafty Angels challenge is 'My favourite things' which could be interpreted in 2 ways for this card - I love elephants (you might have guessed) and I also love flowers on my cards! Then last, but by no means least, Papertake weekly challenge is 'Cutie Pie' which I think this little Ellie definately is!!
I think that 8 should qualify as a 'combo' of challenges LOL, thanks for looking!!!

Finished!!

After a slightly late night last night, I have finished my Easter projects - last minute rush...me??? I'm just one of those people who needs a deadline to work to!!

Anyway, the money wallet is for my eldest nephew, who is getting a bit big for pressies and prefers money to spend. I had to use the fab Carrot racer from Dustin Pike again, it just seems so appropriate for boys!! Big & small!!
I'm entering this one into the Doodle Dragon Studio Challenge too.

Made a tag for my younger nephews present, again using anothe Dustin image (yes i am addicted!!) , this one is called Big Carrot:

And last, but not least my final Easter card, using Bunny Wave:

I hope you all have a fab choccy Easter!!

Ooopppss!!!

Back again!! Easter frenzy Bear!! Managed to get this one photographed before the light went (and the hail storm began...) . It's another fab image from Dustin Pike (yes I am seriously addicted!!), I just love the forlorn expression on the rabbits face. He is coloured with promarkers (quick is good today) and I've added a little doodlebug crushed velvet to the tail and a bit of glossy accents to make the egg look shiny!! Matted onto silver mirri board (not sure it shows up too well??) and the backing paper is Egg-stravaganza by Flair Designs, also from my stash archive!! Thanks for looking!!
I'm entering this one into The Cute Card Thursday Challenge # 106, the theme is so egg-citing!!

Carrot Racer - Vroom!!!

I'm running around like a mad bear today trying to get some Easter cards finished before I go away tomorrow.....nothing like leaving things to the last minute!! I just love this image 'Carrot Racer' from Dustin Pike, as soon as I saw it I thought it was perfect for my son - not too cutsey but still lots of fun!! I hope he likes it!!
The image is coloured with promarkers and the paper is from my stash (could actually be 4 years old???) and I think it is called stitched carrots by Daisy D's. Also used chocolate Bazzill, Fiskars border punch, chocolate ric rac and a few orange gems for a bit of bling!!
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Angels - Easter
Crafty Cardmakers - Spring into Spring - perhaps more like revving in this case - LOL!!
Cupcake craft challenges - Spring or Easter with lots of chocolate
Totally Papercrafts - Let's go digital
Pile it on -Animal riffic - hope the Easter bunny counts!!
Wish me luck, 3 more cards to go !!
